Large amounts of rubbish, cans, bottles and packaging around bus stop area and in grass.

I catch a bus from the bus stop on Hareclive Road every Monday and am appalled at the amount of street litter. In the bus lay-by going towards Bristol centre, the rubbish bin has been removed. This has resulted in a considerable amount of rubbish being left in and around the bus shelter and spreading out around the green areas. The photo is of behind the bus shelter where cans are piled up behind the low wall, and other litter is simply not being picked up by any regular kind of litter-picking. The grass areas leading towards Morrisons had recently been cut, but the litter on the grass had been chopped up by the mower, including some cans! There are bottles and cans and plastic containers in an amount that shows this area needs regular cleansing to prevent a child harming themselves on broken glass or damaged tin cans. Please arrange a daily refuse attendance to clear this area and maintain it as litter free to encourage others to not drop litter. Please also replace the litter bin that was removed so that those who do wish to use one responsibly, can do so. The bus shelter on the other side of the road has a litter bin and is litter free. This problem area needs to be targeted very soon. Many thanks J Goulding

I have been chasing the Council to address this issue since July 2017. Now I see that it has been reported back in 2016 but this report was ignored too. Litter in the green areas is never picked. Although it has been recognised by the Council as a high-traffic area (because of its proximity to Morrison's), new bins are not being installed. As a matter of fact, it was suggested to me that the number of litter bins will be further decreased and dog waste bins increased. It is evident from the photos that the main problem is litter, not dog waste.
