This breakdown of the rod surface has been here a while and is now resulting in multiple potholes across newlands drive, they are largely unavoidable and are continuing to get worse. There are several across the entire stretch of road including beyond the bend in the road on to Denchworth rod which has very deep potholes where you can see the substrate and how the tarmac looks like a crust on top. From my limited but existing civil engineering knowledge this looks like it lacks the weight bearing capacity for intended use and / or has been poorly constructed.
