Trees are dying and need proper tidying
Reported via mobile in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 13:15, Wed 26 April 2023
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4488428.
The trees leading from Albany towards Degema on Townshend Road require pruning and tidying up; the two biggest ones in need are closest to 1 Townshend Road. Many of the mature trees are in various stages of dying and need significant trimming, if not pollarding. Additional trees could be planted as the street is relatively sparse.

Thank you for enquiry. Jobs are raised to tidy up the trees of the street by removing basal/epicormic growth and lifting of low canopies, with recycling of planting gear which has been issued to the contractor for completion.

The trees are still dying and look atrocious. Perhaps the council’s wish is for the neighborhood to look like a Tim Burton film… mostly dead

Thanks for your comments. That's definitely not our choice, sadly our changing weather patterns of prolonged periods of drought are inducing stress on the trees, which is reflected in the condition of the few on the street. Works have been issued to the contractor which are in hand to be completed. Given our changing weather patterns, we are move than grateful for any help with the watering of trees, this can be dish water or bath water, I enclose a copy of the AA's poster.

Still not fixed. Sadly it would appear that by the time this is considered a priority the trees will likely have died.
Shame.

Surprisingly dead trees don't beautify the neighborhood.

They only cut down one tree. They cut down the tree that simply needed pollarding and left the tree that is completely dead. Well done!

Thank you for your comments. We often get multiple enquires for the same road raised by different members of the public which is the case with the above. Works are raised to remove the dead tree for this enquiry which is in hand to be completed by the contractor.

The wrong tree was cut down. The tree needing to be removed is still there, completely dead. They tree in need if pollarding is still looking terrible.
Will these ever be acknowledged? Is Townshend road destined to be a road of hideous trees?

Thank you for your comments. The tree recently removed was in poor condition which was brought to our attention through an enquiry raised by another member of the public. The removal of the dead tree is in hand to be completed as part of the original works raised for this enquiry.
