I have previously reported this problem and was instructed by fixmystreet to take photos of the water when it is raining to prove that the water is flowing into the allotment off boston road causing on-site flooding. The issue is that the only kerb drain (situated on the right as you look at the allotment from boston road) doesn't allow for enough rain water to be absorbed as it flows down the roadside. Due to this, the water partly flows into the drain but most bypasses it and then gathers into the allotment site where it drains onto plots leaving them waterlogged. I have attached photos of the rain water flowing into the allotment. I have dug a channel out into the dyke from the allotment driveway but this isn't enough unfortunately. I think a couple more drains into the dyke from the road are needed to resolve the issue. I understand that in downpours of rain that there will be standing water; that is unavoidable. But, the excess water coming off Boston Road, into the allotment, is a main contribution to large surface water on the plots nearby the gates. If this issue was resolved, the surface water on the allotment site would minimise, making it safer for the affected plot holders, as wet clay is slippery stuff! Any resolution to the issue would be greatly appreciated by the affected plot holders!
