Tarmac repair still breaking up- permanent fix required

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 15:46, Mon 20 January 2014

Sent to Sheffield City Council 3 minutes later

The previously reported patch repair is breaking up yet again. this is possibly the 3rd or 4th repair. it remains a hazard to cyclists and motorbikes and could result in someone being injured. the contractor needs to dig up the drain cover properly and relay it and the surface rather than throwing more tarmac over the top as usual. the latest repair is already starting to break up within 3 weeks, i assume council tax payers are not paying for the ongoing shoddy work to patch this up?

  • another partial (temporary) patch job done, will give it a month before it breaks up. this is putting cyclists and motorbike riders at risk and i cant believe the council allow substandard repairs like this on recently resurfaced sections of road. the tarmac appears to be poured over the top of a manhole cover.
