Investigating
Widcombe Hill just below Prospect Road Bath
Reported via desktop in the Faded road markings category anonymously at 14:32, Thu 10 November 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3954280.
The double yellow lines on the down side of Widcombe Hill are badly faded, particularly just below Prospect Road (where my photos were taken) & were not renewed when the up side were repainted some months ago, they are now also obscured by fallen leaves, so cars are now parking on them reducing the road to a width of just over the width of a car, I doubt an Emergency Service vehicle would get though in an emergency, my pictures were taken today Thursday 10th November 2022 at approx. 9-30am, as you can see the congestion this is causing on this very busy rat run, particularly on working days (commuters parking all day), it has been like this for several weeks, the vehicles parking on the left are illegally parked & your parking control operatives are obviously ignoring the situation or do not visit this area, the street cleaners have not been there for months as most of the drains & gutters on both sides the full length of Widcombe Hill are blocked with leaves & grit, with many more leaves still on the trees waiting to fall, it is no wonder Widcombe village was flooded recently the water off the hill goes straight down the road. May I also add the recently introduced 20mph Speed Limit introduced on the full length of Widcombe Hill is more likely to be observed if the old but recently re-painted 30mph sign on the road at the top of the hill going towards Widcombe is corrected or removed?

I thoroughly endorse the previous report. I reported this problem months ago and nothing was done about it. The problem is faded double yellow lines on the south side of the road. They URGENTLY need repainting. Perhaps in response to my previous complaint an incorrect solution of renewing the lines on the north side of the road was undertaken. The Council was quick to reduce the speed limit (for safety reasons?) but have not dealt with this aspect of safety!!!
