Zebra crossing is in place, but not the lights

Reported via desktop in the Sign Missing/Damaged category anonymously at 10:22, Monday 12 September 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

There appears to be an problem with the newly installed zebra crossing at lennard Road on the cycle route through cator park and onwards along the Poole rive. Cars are either ignoring the crossing as its has not been finished yet, or not seeing it.

Consequently, yesterday as my daughter and I crossed, we were nearly hit by a driver traveling far faster than 20 mph limit of the area and who had obviously not seen the crossing, or worse, chose to ignore it. Some choice words were exchanged in which he said he did not have to slow down because the crossing was not active. There's nothing to indicate this is the case. I said he had to slow down because people were crossing. It was matter of humanity but he was obviously later for church!

Either way, finalising the installation of the crossing by installing the lights which will clearly indicate the crossing is active and subject to the high way laws would remove this sort of unnecessary aggression and maybe save someone's life.

Please remedy this as the earliest. On a less jokey note, someone will die!
