We are currently liaising with the Land Registry Office to determine ownership of the associated land.

Thank you for the update.
Might it be possible to tarmac, to widen the footway, across the degrassed verge (and potentially muddy and slippery) ‘incorporating’ the exposed Thames Water(?) Square metal hatch thereby both widening the path and also removing the trip hazard?

There are no plans to widen the footway at this location. We are still researching ownership and responsibility of the overgrown area requiring trimming back. Please bear with us.

Given that it was the Council’s contractor who cut back the OHV earlier in the year I’m not sure why there is now seemingly a need to ‘research ownership and responsibility’ on what is a public footway outside a school adjacent to the busy A222.....
The cutting back job is a very straightforward one, which, with the right equipment could/should be done in less than half an hour.....
The neighbouring ‘earth patch’ with the exposed Thames Water inspection hatch is a potential trip and slip hazard and has noticeably deteriorated in recent months, as a look back at photographs accompanying previous reports will readily show......hence the suggestion for a ‘minor capital works’ scheme to make the area safe(r).
With the rapidly decreasing daylights combined with the move from BST to GMT action sooner rather than later to address this simple task would be appreciated......
Thank you.

The vegetation here has been cut back but we have asked our contactor to attend to cut back further and add to the maintenance contract. We apologise for the delay in responding but identifying a responsible party for the area the vegetation is growing from hasn't been straight forward, but it has still taken longer than we would have hoped to respond on this issue. The grass area is maintained by Chislehurst Commons and we are contacting them in regards to assisting in repair to the now muddy area.
