Touting for Sex on Public Phones

Reported via desktop in the Graffiti and flyposting category anonymously at 11:55, Monday 29 August 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Westminster City Council less than a minute later

The problem concerns two red phone boxes on Cumberland Place by Wallenberg Place. I walk past these telephone boxes every weekend. Every weekend I find prostitute adverts on them. I keep removing and chucking them in the bin but they keep coming. Now the tom carders are using new cards which are glued to the glass making them exceedingly difficult to remove. Just so we are on the same page, section 46 (1) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001, makes it an offence to place adverts for prostitution.

I understand that red telephone boxes have been seen as iconic in London but these particular telephone boxes are not used to phone anyone, they reek of urine and they are convenient a advertising platform for prostitution. They are not exactly a good advert for the city or for the borough. Can Westminster Council please remove them?

Kind regards,

Cyrus Parvin
