Very overgrown fir trees bordering a public footpath and our houses
Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 11:47, Wed 18 May 2022
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3534034.
The trees are on the side of the M27 near the Western Rownhams Services. Their branches are restricting public access along the public footpath and overhanging our house roof and garden causing guttering problems. The bordering fence to stop people accessing the motorway is also in a bad state of repair and falling over creating potential easy access down the motorway embankment

Thank you for your report concerning the vegetation restricting access to the footpath and the damaged fencing.
We can confirm that the fence has been made safe and the vegetation will be cut back to allow better access for pedestrians.
Kind regards

M 27 motorway Rownhams, Eastbound, Hants. No action to date, 2/11/2022 Situation has deteriorated., your maintenance Contractor, whom I believe to be a company called Kier. are very slow responding positively to my with the latest situation report 18/05/2022, and 14/09/2022 see below:
M27 motorway Rownhams Southampton, Embankment adjacent to property located SO16 8AN postcode .House name Ferndown Comments
Hedges and trees and undergrowth on adjacent embankment is receiving no maintenance and is overgrown over adjacent footpath and blocking sunlight on our boundary. Overgrown hedges will attract a local authority ASBO if not kept low and maintained so , regularly. In dry condition the extensive growth is a fire hazard and also needs a fire break to help shield our property and that of or neighbours. Please, Please help. and send someone out to meet me and discuss other effects
