Incorrect signage for road layout

Hi, as you approach the M27 junction from Romsey, the sign says you can stay in the left hand lane to go straight on. However this is not the case. The 2nd sign and the road markings make it clear that the left hand lane is for turning left onto the M27 East bound only. It has caused confusion several times for drivers that do not know the road layout and know that this sign is incorrect.

Thank you for your report concerning signage on the M271 approach to the M27 J3.
According to the Highway Code, all information present at and around this roundabout is correct and meets regulations.
Approaching the M27 from the southbound M271, there are three signs which indicate the layout of the junction with the routes and destinations accessed from each arm, supported by road markings indicating the routes accessed by each lane and ahead arrows for those lanes.
The final sign shows the turning movements that can be carried out from each lane, supported by road markings showing which routes can be accessed from which lanes. There are no routes shown on the sign or arrow road markings at this point as this could mislead drivers into thinking they can access two routes by turning in either direction, which isn't the case.
Where the M27 becomes three lanes the lane designation sign shows that the M27 East and M3 can be accessed from lane 1, the M271, M27 East and M3 can be accessed from lane 2, and the M271 and M27 West can be accessed from lane 3. It isn't permitted in the Code to show different route numbers together with an arrow showing two turning directions, hence the ahead arrows for all lanes.
The third sign indicates different routes (the M27 East and M3, as well as the M271) designated in lane 2 are accessed from different exits at the roundabout. It isn't permitted to show destinations or route numbers on signs indicating two different turning movements from the same lane. However, those routes are marked on the road without turning movement arrows.
The M27 West is accessed by turning right, although the signing and lining is shown as ahead. This is to prevent drivers from turning the wrong way on to the roundabout. Further signing on the roundabout, combined with the information on the signs, assists drivers in accessing that route.
