Double Yellow Lines

Reported via desktop in the Faded road markings category anonymously at 21:19, Thu 18 November 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later

By not completing the repaint of the double yellow lines following the new crossing installation you have created a dangerous situation with cars parking on the new anti slip surface on the corner opposite the narrowest part of the road. The lines should be painted up to number one Coronation Avenue but they fall short. Cars parked on this corner push vehicles travelling down the road out onto the other side of the road and there have been several near misses with vehicles travelling up. It’s an accident waiting to happen. The lines need to be extended to match the lines on the other side of the road.

  • These lines should go up to the front gate of 2 Lymore Terrace. However they have not been repainted after the road was resurfaced. This is really dangerous as there are constantly cars parked outside 1 Lymore Terrace which obstructs the view of the road for anyone turning out of the alley between Ivy Ave and Lymore Terrace and for people driving up the hill. The parked cars make the road very narrow by the bus stop which is again very dangerous for cyclists etc. Please could this be sorted ASAP. It will require a parking restriction as otherwise there will constantly be cars parked where the lines should be.

  • Is there any update on this ? The situation is very dangerous and I have witnessed near misses as the space to get through is very narrow if the bus stop is in use.
