Rubbish dumped next to Royal Mail box Maida Avenue at junction with Edgware Road

Reported via desktop in the Flytipping category anonymously at 15:30, Sun 17 October 2021 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Westminster City Council less than a minute later

The root cause of this problem is that 1A Maida Avenue, 1 Callard Close, 2 Callard Close and 3 Callard Close have no bins. 1 Callard Close is let day to day through an AirBnB arrangement and these transitory visitors have little option on where they dispose of garbage, because the landlord has failed to provide a bin. No. 2 is on a longer let, but again no bins are provided. The same is true of No. 3. 4, Callard Close has a proper bin, which is put out for collection on Tuesday and Friday.

1A Maida Avenue has nowhere to store a bin, so we cannot say what they do with their rubbish.

Until WCC enforce mandatory bin provision on the landlords of these properties, this unsightly and unhygienic problem will persist.

The rubbish in the photos will be there for four days, Saturday through Tuesday.
