More trees have been vandalised at Old Farm Park. This cannot continue. If this is not resolved urgently all the money invested in the new park will be for nothing,

  • I agree about the vandalised trees. The state of this park generally is now appalling due to neglect. All of the grassy areas need mowing. All of the flower beds need weeding and/or deadheading. There are at least three dead trees due to lack of watering. Some of the paths are being overgrown by weeds from the flower beds. I'm not sure what the "pond" area is trying to achieve and it should be removed.

  • I absolutely agree with the earlier reports. The vandalised tree situation is continuing despite reports to United living and this site. There is an air of general neglect unfortunately. No wonder the estate marketing people do not want the park entrance signposted on their boards at the Old Farm Place entrance inspite of the park supposedly being a selling point. I understand United living are responsible for the park upkeep for two years but Bexley council should not be able to totally wash their hands of the problems.

  • I just got an email from Bexley Council and they informed me that it is not there responsibility to look after old farm Park. So they are washing there hands of the problem. It's an absolute Disgrace!!! It is open to the public, so it is there problem to maintain it. The major even came along to open the park when it was completed, so he needs to address this ASAP. They don't want to employ Park attendants to look after it because it will cost them. I even think they need to lock the park overnight too, which they do at other parks including Manor House Gardens. Why is Hither Green's Manor House Gardens looked after properly but Old Farm Park is being left to rag and ruin. We cannot allow Bexley Council to turn a blind eye, they need to resolve this.

  • I have been told United Living the company building the Old Farm Place Estate are responsible for the park upkeep for two years (due to run out end 2021??) I would contact Devon.Johnson@UnitedLiving.co.uk and ask for an explanation.

  • When I discovered that more trees has been vandalised a few weeks ago, I informed one of the United living workers of the damage and was nice enough to walk with me to the park to look at the damage he even pointed other trees that had been slightly damaged but not destroyed that probably will not survive. He was also frustrated and upset tht the bexley council do not want anymore involvement in the park and were not interested in the recent vandalism. I have already been in touch with Devon the site manager when the park was first being built, telling him my concerns. The park actually out did my expectations, I think he did a great job. It's not united livings problem anymore, it's bexley councils. They need to show they care about the residents in this area and their wellbeing and take action!!! It's that simple.

  • They continue to vandalise the trees, even the Japanese cherry trees next to the development. Its absolute disgrace!! Bxley Council are ignoring it, hoping that it will go away. Well I am not going away, i will continue to complain untill you resolve this and make the vandals acccountable.

  • I've just walked around the park. to see that at least 20 trees have been vandalised - more done overnight. The park has turned out to be a complete mess and totally neglected. It was obvious to even a novice gardener that the shrubs they planted were going to need a lot of upkeep. The vandalism and the lack of action by whoever is responsible to maintain and manage the park is shameful and just adds to the negativity I now feel about the park and won't be going back anymore. Yes the pond!! What a joke!! More like they couldn't be asked to landscape the area. It's insulting to the locals.

  • It's absolute disgrace!! Even more so that no one is taking responsibility to tackle this. I find it too upsetting to visit the park anymore, everytime i go more trees are destroyed, this time it was more than 10 in a matter of a week. I agree the wetland is a disaster. They should have put time and effort into designing a small pond for wildlife. I only live across the road but I will not be visiting it anymore, too heart breaking. I feel for the people moving into the new housing estate that was once part of a much larger park, by the time it's finished the park will look like a bomb site. So sad, if it wasn't for all the vandalism it could have been a beautiful park.

  • Reading this is so frustrating given the current state of the park. My question is if the council say they have nothing to do with the park then why was the Mayor and council members all bragging about it on the news and social media at the time?

  • More trees have been vandalised. There Is now a graveyard of destroyed trees as you enter the park, very upsetting. I have informed Louis French the new MP for Old Bexley & Sidcup. Hopefully he will get someone to listen and take the appropriate action.
