The end of the drain is completely overgrown

There is a drain running alongside the footpath. Over the years it has been allowed to become overgrown. At the end of the drain there is a wall and a metal grid to stop debris from clogging up the drain. Some time ago, over a year, there were som metal and plastic barriers put around it. Now even the barriers are being overtaken by the bushes etc. It is unsightly but, more concerning it will be blocking the drain and could potentially cause serious flooding in heavy rain. The gully and drain are there for a reason. Please look at this to assess ASAP and arrange for it to be restored to how it should be. Thank you.

This issue was first reported a number of years ago. The weeds are now almost completely covering the temporary fencing. Please confirm what the plan of action and the realistic timescales can be expected?

Because this issue seems to have been unaddressed for years, a complaint was submitted (ref: 17928670). The reply said that ''The area has not been maintained and thank you for bringing this to our attention. The work required in this area has been added to our winter works schedule which commences in October once the grass cutting has stopped. Unfortunately, we are not in a position currently to provide you with an exact date''. Hopefully, the whole gully area will be cleared and allow the gully to do its job when necessary and the wall will be repaired and the temporary fencing removed. :)
