Grass cutters have hit something that flew up and chipped and cracked my windscreen

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later
I left my car parked on the road outside 29 Sydney Road yesterday and today. Yesterday the 8th of June 2021 some council workers were cutting the grass between the pavement and road and one of them must have hit a stone or pebble etc with the grass cutter. I now have a very large crack and chip in my windscreen that wasn’t there yesterday morning. My insurance covers some of the windscreen replacement but I have to cover the excess of £115. Please can this be reimbursed as it was no fault of my own

I’ve had the windscreen replaced at a cost of £115 but heard nothing from company who were contracted to cut the grass and one phone call from a council employee. Nothing else.

Can you finally DO SOMETHING about calming the Rat Run that is Sydney Road during peak traffic hours?
I have witnessed three accidents in the last week alone where residents cars have been hit by speeding vehicles that use Sydney Road to avoid the traffic light junction on Sidcup High Street.
I work from home, looking into the street all day and witness cars speeding at 50 and 60mph up and down the road every morning and evening. Apart from the repeated damage caused to parked cars, this situation will lead to someone getting injured as well, perhaps grievously so.
