Redact

A storm drain cover has been stolen for scrap on Crouch Croft near Coleman's Heath roundabout. As you see from the picture the hole is very deep and dangerous to traffic and pedestrians, particularly children. It is near rhe Children's activity centre on The Course so unaccompanied children may be passing. VERY DANGEROUS.

Hi - thanks for raising this - I’m afraid there has been a recent spate of theft of these across Eltham, New Eltham and Mottingham. Its hugely frustrating - not only dangerous, as you say, but also costing the council taxpayer around £200 for every one stolen.

We have asked officers to make sure this (and others reported to us) is replaced as soon as possible - and that this one is prioritised given proximity to the adventure play centre.

Thanks again for raising this and we’ll keep checking in on this to make sure it is replaced quickly.

Best wishes, John, Matt and Roger
