Updates

  • Update from your local councillors

We have raised this issue with the council, after being contacted by a local resident about this. The trees in question have been added to the Tree Maintenance Unit’s list for replacement.

This means the dead and diseased trees will be removed as soon as possible (there is currently a backlog). The trees will then be replaced during the following planting season. We have been advised that the replacement trees will be Amelanchier arborea ‘Robin Hill’. This tree has the same features as a Cherry Tree, blossom in the spring and vivid Autumn colour but without the risk of damage to the highway.

We have asked Council Officers to make sure they examine all of the trees on Charldane Road, so that any that need replacing are all replaced in one go.

Thanks for raising this and if there's anything else we can help with as your local councillors, please do just let us know.

Best wishes, Cllr John Hills, Cllr Matt Hartley, Cllr Roger Tester CHNE ward team
