Springfield quarry - tree safety

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2615207.
We live next door to Springfield Quarry and yesterday we walked along the path to the end of the Quarry, and found that a large divided trunk of one of the Lime trees had broken off in the gale and fallen right across the path at the end on the right side. The divided trunk had come from about 20 feet up, was about 40 feet long and about 18 inches in diameter - I found it very hard to step over. It was obvious that the wood was rotting, and as we have already had one of the lime trees fall down near our house we would be grateful if the Council could come and clear the path and just check that the rest of the tree is safe. Many people go down that path every day walking their dogs, and many families walk their children there too.
I would be very grateful if you could keep me informed regarding this matter.

This site is due to be routinely inspected later this year and the inspector will take into account the request to have the stem removed from the path in the woodland section.
