Green bin series as general rubbish buy

Reported via Android in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 10:53, Sun 29 November 2020

Sent to Lewisham Borough Council less than a minute later

There have been a few green bins for of contaminated recycling and general rubbish for a month or so now I think. Leap property owner or tenant needs to be informed on how to use recycling and the bins need to be emptied as if they were black bins. It really is an eyesore and also narrow the pavement forcing people to walk less that together and they should at the moment, rather like all the cars parked on the pavements.

  • I dictated this message without glasses... hence the strange wording.. The problem seems to be from a household who put food in with the recycling a few collections ago. It was not collected by the recycling team, and the garbage team just ignore what is now obviously general rubbish. More has been piled on. The householders need to be educated, or maybe the green bins swapped for black ones if they don't want to sort their waste into recycling and general. In addition, the bins are on the pavement, narrowing it near to a nice tree that also narrows it. Not ideal for keeping us 2m apart.
