This is not vandalism or misuse it is caused by the cemetery digger making its way from one grave to another or back to the yard. Rubber tracks were fitted on the digger instead of the standard metal ones but this still leaves some marks on the roads in places. The top layer of the road was installed in the 60’s it was of poor quality and in places breaks away to the original road beneath. The digger and dumper weigh over 2 tonnes.
The operators take extra care when manoeuvring around the cemetery as they know how fragile parts of the roads are. The cemeteries are still operational and this machinery is necessary for burial purposes.
