Bins not fit for purpose
Reported via Android in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 12:52, Thu 29 October 2020
Sent to Sheffield City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2362408.
It is well known and frequently publicised that there is a rodent infestation in this area of Sheffield. This morning (bin day) I witnessed over 30 bins with holes bitten through the sides, edges and lids, in less that 100 metres walking on only 1 side of the road. I have more photos if required that show the variatuon in access points. Many had holes in this same location - an obvious weak spot that the rats have learnt!
The prevalence of inadequate bins need urgent review and attention by sheffield city council and veolia, if the vermin are to be discouraged from peoples gardens.
If people can't store their rubbish securely and maintain hygiene levels for themselves and their children, how is the wider issue going to even start being managed.
Please keep me updated on the progress

Veolia have informed me that each and every resident has to call and pay for a new bin to be supplied. This is unreasonable and unacceptable as it impacts so many thousands of people in this densely populated area.
My complaint has been forwarded to Sheffield City Council for further review, but no response has yet been received
