Footpath has been replaced but has not been returned to the original state

The footpath has just been replaced outside our house (309 Wellington Road South) but the water cover has not been fully enclosed. Prior to the work it was fully enclosed and the concrete/tarmac was removed as the work began last week. It has been replaced with the footpath only covering half of it. This means that it is now a trip hazard and is loose so is likely to become damaged. I alerted somebody this morning who was tidying away the equipment but he said that another company was responsible for it so he could not help. He said that he would call them and let me know but he did not return and on looking outside now, he has left. Please advise what will be done to rectify this and the timescale. Thank you

  • Following this message, the workmen returned this afternoon further up the road and I spoke to one of them who came to ours and fixed the problem by enclosing the water cover completely. Thank you to the team that were working on the corner of the African Queen who were very helpful and polite in fixing this. This issue is therefore no longer a problem.
