Lovers Walk new Bridge - the fix that won't fix it
Reported via Android in the Drain or Gully category anonymously at 16:56, Sun 23 August 2020
Sent to Barnet Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2259450.
Problems with the new bridge over Dollis Brook at Lover's Walk have been reported before. As the final tarmac layer appears not to have been laid the metal "tray" floods in rain. On Saturday 22nd August, workmen returned, but it appears all they did was drill a few holes in the sides of the "tray". As these are above the path level they won't solve anything, the bridge will still flood. Can we know when this job will be finished properly?

Update 20/09. Nothing has been done about the bridge, although luckily there has been no rain lately so it hasn't flooded. I had an email from Capita on behalf of the council, claiming they were "aware of the problem" and were "looking for an appropriate solution". Barriers and signs indicating the bridge was closed were removed when it became obvious nothing was happening. In my reply to that email I said that no creative solution was needed, just a layer of tarmac to finish the job which began on June 15th. We now wait for floods in the Autumn rain, and a ready-made skating rink when the first frosts arrive.
