New footbridge not draining rainwater

Reported in the Drain or Gully category by Thomas Andrew Haxell at 17:51, Saturday 15 August 2020

Sent to Barnet Borough Council less than a minute later

This new bridge replaced a narrower curved (convex) one. It appears to be flat, but is actually concave and has trapped rainwater after the recent storms. To cross I walked through a fifteen-foot long inch-deep puddle. This will prevent a lot of walkers using the bridge and be dangerous in frosty weather. Maybe it's not finished yet? All the workers' equipment has gone.

  • Even moderate rainfall results in a deep puddle in the centre of the bridge. Added to falling leaves makes a slimy , slippery mess. A lot of money for shoddy drsign/ construction.

  • The council are meant to be finally fixing this in the next few weeks.
