Non cutting of grass and privets
Reported in the Parks/Landscapes category anonymously at 01:45, Tue 16 June 2020
Sent to Lewisham Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2157503.
The 'green chain walk' in Woodbank Road has not had the grass cut for nearly 3 months. even during lockdown a person with a strimmer or ride on mower could have kept this down. other areas too. green on the corner of Capstone Road and Lame Rock Road also the one in the road with no name between Moorside Road and Capstone Road - opposite the Good Shepard church [PW / Education Facility on your map} both side of the road are very over grown and there has been a tin 'unit' put on there for months. looks like a council thing. also overgrown privets making it impossible to walk on the pavement when cars are also, badly, parked. corner of Moorside Road and Whitefoot Terrace. Corner of Capstone Road and Durham Hill come to mind

Some small grass areas have been cleared but the Woodbank Road (Green Chain Walk) has had the edges cut down (strimmer) but no sign of the ride on mower for the last week.

Not sure why Lewisham Council has closed this - it has NOT been completed. the grass in Woodbank Road and Shaw/Undershaw Road, part of the green chain walk, has still NOT been cut - they started it but did NOT finish it

Seems the guy with the strimmer can cut the edges and small areas but the ones with the ride on mowers can't be bothered.

Still open, via questionnaire -
The Green Chain Walk in Woodbank Road still hasn't been cut. The guy with strimmer came but no one else. What with this and having to limbo under overgrown Hedges the area is becoming a bombsite. No where near as good as when it was owned by LCC

It's now mid August 2020 and still not cut the grass. this was reported in June - 3 months ago and it had not been cut for for at least a month prior to that. will either need a machete or flame thrower soon (either would be handy for getting past over grown privet or hedges

It's now September and this is STILL NOT DONE. this green has not been cut since March 2020. guess Lewisham Council are too lazy to do the work and only want to take the money.

Well it may now be 'internal referral but that just seems to mean, pass it along and ignore it. still not been cut in Woodbank Road or Shaw / Undershaw Road, it's now been 4 months, coming up to 5 months and they have done nothing. would take a couple hours for a guy with a strimmer to cut this or 30 minutes - 1 hour for the guy on the ride on

This has still NOT been cut - 5 months since it was reported - guess their term 'passed for internal review' actually means ignore it and hope it goes away.

Well I guess if you class cutting the grass ONCE in two years as closed then..... why the guy with the strimmer can't cut the whole lot is beyond me
