More than 3 weeks ago ( following weeks of wind and rain) a landslide occurred on the left hand side of Padleigh Hill approaching Rush Hill, causing a lot of mud and debris to fall in the road making a difficult road even more dangerous. It’s a steep bank and unclear who owns the wall at top of the bank why will surely subside if there’s further bad weather . A full collapse would close the road for days and need complex repair to shore up the bank. As a resident, I pointed it out to council workmen last week and asked them to pass the information on. The whole road into the village is full of broken down pot holes - all caused by the rain we’ve had .I do think an inspection of the landslide is necessary as there’s a much bigger problem waiting to happen . I spoke to the home owner who lives above the slide but it’s unclear from above whether the wall visible at top of landslide is his ! This does need attention as a lot of drivers use the village as a rat run and therefore there’s a risk to the public if a further much bigger slide occurs ...
