Residential waste left on pavement
Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 14:07, Fri 17 January 2020
Sent to Lewisham Borough Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1944956.
There is a block of flats between the Coop (294-296) and Brockley Appliances shop on Brockley Road. There is always rubbish left on the pavement. Some poles have been there for about three weeks now. Rubbish bags seem to be left there and accumulate during the week before a collection, and the more bags left makes it harder for buggies and wheelchairs to pass on the narrow pavement. This block does not seem to have (council) bins at the front like other blocks on the high street. The residential block has a small front patio area where bins or waste could be left for easy collection. Please look into this. Without council bins it may also mean that there is no recycling.

The poles and black plastic bag have been on the pavement since December. Whoever marked the problem as fixed needs to justify this action.

Still open, via questionnaire -
Metal / plastic poles are spread a long the pavement next to the patio wall of 296 Brockley Road. They have been there some time now. Unsure why the refuse collectors do not collect them when they collect the waste bags which are placed on the poles.

It took about 3 months and three separate queries to resolve this complaint because the council kept closing the case without taking action to resolve it. This really undermined this platform as a complaint system because there was no explanation provided as to why the case had been closed.
It was only after I opened a separate case and provided photo a showing the poles under bin bags and another photos with the bin bags gone but the poles still there did the council (or other) take action.
