Problems with large silver birch tree. The tree has become very big in recent years due to lack of pruning. The tree is taller than the houses. It’s causing problems with cutting out light, excessive leaf shedding and seeds and sap which damage the pavement and our property. We are concerned the roots are causing problems with the pavement and front garden walls. Additionally the size of the tree is encouraging birds to soil the pavement and the cars below plus front area of our property. We don’t believe it’s been pruned in at least 8 years from our recollection. Others have been and this one hasn’t. There’s also problems with magpies roosting in the tree which disturb us at night.
