Westminster Council is Failing its Residents by Knowingly Allowing Engine Idling
Reported in the Engine idling category anonymously at 16:25, Tue 10 December 2019
Sent to Westminster City Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1882636.
Westminster City Council has failed its own residents by approving a National Express coach stop at Dorset Square right next to residential buildings and then knowingly allowing coaches to have their engines idling at this coach stop throughout the day every day. This is scandalous and is damaging to the health of Westminster residents. Urgent action is required or does Westminster City Council not care for the health of its residents?

This is a serious public health issue affecting the health and well being of the local community in Marylebone living close to this irresponsibly sited long distance coach stop and yet Westminster City Council is ignoring these reports and is failing in its duty of care to Westminster residents. WCC please listen to your residents and take remedial action.

No action has been taken. This issue is even more urgent and pertinent at the moment as studies have shown that the risks of Covid-19 transmission are increased by high levels of pollution in the air. URGENT ACTION IS REQUIRED.

This is a health scandal! It is totally unacceptable to site a coach stop right next to residents’ homes. Allowing coaches to idle their engines at this location is a grave mistake with serious health consequences for local residents. WCC and TfL need to take action to remove this coach stop.
