Longfellow Avenue - Light 002 - out of lighting - safety issue.
Reported in the Street Light Fault category anonymously at 13:12, Sat 23 November 2019 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 3 minutes later
Streetlight 2 out and, combined with lack of all Avenues' in Poet's Corner tree maintenance in 2019, this means that many pedestrians regularly walk along the road itself with phone light on as path is obscured. This is obviously a H&S issue and a DANGER. *Please fix light and remove branches up to 2m at least.*
After reporting this light twice, given it has not been working for going on two years, I was advised that this light would be repaired on the 15th November. This part of the street remains in darkness and is becoming acutely dangerous for pedestrians.

We are sorry for the delay in light 002 being repaired. We have chased our contractors for this work to take place as quickly as possible. The issue with the trees will be referred to Highways. The report is now closed, further comments may not be monitored.

Despite this, it's Dec11th now and STILL not fixed. This is a H&S issue and the council have had more than a reasonable time to "chase" contractors to fix this and make sure the public are safe. Not acceptable.

Wrote twice to you re the streetlight on Longfellow - as others appear to have done. You stated it'd be fixed 15th Nov. Still not working. Still a danger. Still paying my council tax. Please fix it.

We can confirm that work to install new column 002 is intended to start before the end of the year. A new power supply will then be connected to the light and we have been advised this is planned to happen in the first part of January. We hope this information is of help and we are sorry for the delay in this work taking place.
