Traffic lights don't let cyclists turn right out of Turner Road

Reported in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 19:41, Wed 2 October 2019

Sent to Essex County Council 4 minutes later

The lights allowing traffic to turn right out of Turner Road onto the Northern Approach seem to be 100% on traffic detectors and do not present green in the ordinary cycle. These aren't sensitive enough to detect bicycles so cyclists are presented with a red light that doesn't change until a car wants to turn, too.

Even worse, if the bicycle is waiting on the induction loop, the car is too far back to trigger it, so the lights _still_ don't change. This evening, the motorist behind me realised what was going on, so wound his window down to ask me to move forward so he could trigger the lights.
