Newly installed vehicle-activated speed sign not working

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Edward Betts at 14:40, Mon 10 December 2018

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council 5 minutes later

About two months ago a new vehicle-activated speed sign was installed on London Road, next to the turning for Castle Rise.

It worked for about a week, cars were driving noticeably slower.

For the last month it hasn't been working. The display is blank. It would be great if somebody could fix it.

    Hello

Thank you for your email. I can confirm that the sign isn't faulty but operating in stealth mode at the moment. The signs are subject to strict rules and have to be switched off periodically for some weeks to stop drivers tuning them out. We are still collecting data and it will be interesting to see if speeds creep up when they are off and come down again when they are switched back on.

    Many thanks

    Shelley Dyte
