Marble Arch Cycle Lane leads to fastest lane of Park Lan

Reported anonymously at 16:05, Sat 16 October 2021

Just noticed a new cycle lane/barriers on Marble Arch, directly opposite the new residential development. This is extremely dangerous for two reasons: 1) some “recreational” cyclists are cycling the wrong way down the cycle lane and emerging directly against oncoming traffic from Bayswater Road as it meets Marble Arch. 2) the other end of the cycle lane makes cyclists meet the fast (right hand side) lane of Park Lane in the North->South direction. Unless this is properly policed or regulated (using traffic lights) it will be a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed - please could you review this decision and improve safety for cyclists, pedestrians and motorists - all of whom are at severe risk here.
